L3CMOS Series
Product Introduction
The L3CMOS series features C-mount USB3.0 microscopy cameras equipped with Aptina (onsemi) high-sensitivity CMOS sensors and onboard buffer architecture. Under 5 Gbit/s USB3.0 bandwidth, these cameras achieve more stable high frame rate transmission while reducing frame loss and jitter caused by burst data. Resolution coverage spans approximately 2.2–12 MP, suitable for educational, routine scientific research, and general microscopy documentation applications.
The built-in Ultra-Fine color processing engine performs demosaicing, auto exposure/gain control, one-click white balance, and color/gamma/contrast processing on the camera side, reducing host CPU usage while delivering natural and consistent color presentation. The housing features metal (aluminum alloy) CNC precision construction for durability and reliability, while included ToupView/ToupLite software and cross-platform SDK support (Windows/Linux/macOS/Android) facilitate system integration and secondary development.

Ultra-sensitive Aptina CMOS sensors
Uses high-performance Aptina CMOS sensors to deliver very high sensitivity, low noise, and wide dynamic range. The advanced architecture maximizes photoelectric conversion efficiency for clear images even in very low light. Pixel sizes range from 1.4 µm to 2.2 µm to balance fine detail with excellent low-light sensitivity.
Large onboard buffer technology
Built-in large onboard buffer enables synchronous data transfer and stable high-frame-rate output. The buffer prevents frame loss or stutter during continuous high-speed capture, preserving data integrity. Even with heavy data loads, it maintains smooth live preview and reliable acquisition—ideal for long-duration observations of dynamic processes.
USB3.0 ultra-high-speed data transfer
Equipped with a high-speed USB3.0 interface providing up to 5 Gbps bandwidth for fast, stable real-time video transfer. Compared with USB2.0, speed improves more than 10×, fully unleashing the high-resolution sensor performance. Some models reach 50 fps at full resolution, and ROI cropping can deliver even higher frame rates for precise capture of fast dynamics.
Precise Ultra-Fine color engine
Advanced Ultra-Fine image processing reproduces vivid, accurate color while revealing fine detail. The engine improves contrast and clarity so delicate sample structures remain visible—ideal for pathology, materials analysis, and other color-critical applications.
Industrial-grade rugged construction
The CNC-milled aluminium housing delivers structural strength and efficient passive cooling with no moving parts—eliminating vibration and reducing noise.
