In-Depth Overview

The X5CAM4K_MR multi-module kit combines an independent imaging host with a dedicated acquisition submodule to create a flexible microscopy and inspection platform. It is built for multi-device collaboration in teaching, research, and industrial quality control, offering powerful image processing and networking features in a single system.

Centered on a Sony Starvis 2 back-illuminated CMOS sensor, the host delivers 4K 60 fps HDMI output with ~40 ms average latency, supports RAW capture and MP4 recording, and provides rich measurement, stitching, and depth-fusion tools through the embedded XCamView software.

Technical Highlights

  • Modular architecture: The imaging host pairs with replaceable acquisition submodules, connected via a dedicated industrial interface for stable, low-latency transmission.
  • Flexible deployment: Supports HDMI, USB 3.0, Gigabit LAN, and optional Wi-Fi modules for local preview, remote control, and network streaming.
  • Powerful feature integration:
    • RAW image capture and MP4 recording (H.264/H.265), saved directly to SD cards or USB flash drives.
    • Embedded XCamView software handles depth-of-field fusion, live stitching, image measurement, and auto edge detection.
    • Optional USB voice control module enables hands-free capture, recording, and freeze-frame commands.
  • Extensive compatibility: Works with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems plus iOS/Android mobile apps, and includes a standard SDK for secondary development.
  • Industrial-grade reliability: Operates from -10 to 50 °C with a metal chassis designed for long-term stability.
